Feature: @awm4's Beastly BMW M4 Rolling on Avant Garde M621s at ModAuto
[Sr. Mod Expert Alan](http://www.modbargains.com/alan-wei-senior-modification-expert.htm\) has been a longtime BMW enthusiast, so when it came time to retire the “VADER 335i”, Alan’s previous showcar, picking the next vehicle was quite the tough decision. After looking at a few different options including the Porsche Macan among others, the new BMW M4 made it to the top of Alan’s short list. Never one to build a car without dialing it up to ten, the AW.M4 is one unique BMW ///M car.

It didn’t get this way overnight, for sure.
It took a lot of hard work and man hours (and a lot of effort on the part of our install techs Dave & Juan) to transform Alan’s stock Alpine White F82 BMW M4 into the incredible machine you see here. In this article we’re going to take a look at what it took to get the car looking and performing the way it does today and look back at the car as it was being put together. We didn’t get the chance to share the work in progress with you guys as it was happening, so that’s what we’ll be doing in this feature on the @aw.m4 (follow Alan’s M4 on instagram)

One of the first cosmetic mods Alan made was to install a set of BMW OEM M4 gloss black kidney grills. Check out this 50/50 split view with the right hand side still chrome, the left hand side gloss black.

Next was a set of BMW OEM M4 gloss black fender grills to tie the package together (the chrome half side is still on in this shot), but it made it clear the ugly amber factory reflectors had to go.

A set of IND painted front reflectors fixed the problem and dramatically cleaned up the front end.

Now it was time to move on to the next item on the agenda: the exhaust.

Off with the old…

Alan opted for a Remus cat back exhaust w/ 102mm carbon angled tips to give the M4’s S55 engine a more pleasing exhaust note, pick up a few ponies as well as dress up the rear end.

The OEM Exhaust Valve Controllers are reused on the Remus Exhaust for F82 BMW M4, leaving the variable exhaust system intact.

Here’s our Senior Technician Dave carefully fitting one of the 102mm Carbon Fiber Exhaust Tips with titanium internals. These tips look incredible and actually save a couple of pounds each over the standard exhaust tips.

Dave makes the final adjustments on the system - but already it’s easy to see how awesome the Remus Quad Carbon tips look in place.

Here’s a quick installed view.

This was just the beginning. To really stand out, you need some unique wheels.

Tapping into the popularity of the directional wheel trend hitting the market right now, Alan opted for a set of Avant Garde M621 Flow Forged Bespoke level III Brushed Stainless finish wheels, spec’d out at 20x10 ET20 LV II Concave / 20x11 ET35 LV III Concave for a really stunning look. Here they are on the tires.

Alan couldn’t wait to see these on the car, so they were test-fitted right there at Avant Garde.

Next on the list was brakes to match the M4’s performance. AP Racing RadiCal red calipers
Front 390mm J Hook rotors with Rear 380mm J hook rotors were more than enough to make the M4 stop on a dime. Since you saw the car last, we also added a rather crazy aero setup, but more on that later. To stop the car we needed performance fluid to go with such monstrous calipers.
A full system flush with Motul RBF600 Brake Fluid was just what we needed.
Dave pours the fluid in…
Since we saw the car last, Alan has been busy with the Aero, starting with M-Performance style front splitters, M-performance style front lower splitter and M-Performance style side skirt extensions, Alan then added a 30pc RevoZport Aero kit, which includes a Front lower splitter (with side blade), Front Splitter intake ducts, Front brake cooling intake, Brake disc cooling set and Front bumper canards for a major change over OEM.
Then bleeds the system under pressure to ensure that there is no air whatsoever in the system, guaranteeing safe and effective stopping power.
At the rear we can see the RevoZsport kit Side skirts (with side blade), Rear diffuser, L/R Under spoiler (with side blade) - and this was before Alan had even added the wing, too.
The overall effect with the exhaust is pretty stunning.
This angle is downright indecent, all that carbon, those bigass AP Racing RadiCal brakes and Remus Exhaust on full display. Bloody glorious.
From there, Alan added the graphics to finish the car off as you see it today.
