Review: Ford Focus ST Eibach Sportline Springs by Brendon M
The stock ride height, even on a hot hatch like the Ford Focus ST, can leave a lot to be desired. Which is why when Brendon reached out to us when he was shopping for a set of lowering springs for his Focus ST Suspension. Normally our the Mod Experts handle sales for our Focus ST mods and Fiesta ST mods, but Brendon chatted with one of our resident ST owner/enthusiasts, Nick, for some advice on what kind of springs might be the best way to go for what he was trying to achieve.
With the Focus ST, it’s important to note that 2013 cars use totally different springs than 2014 models - so unfortunately the Sportline for Focus ST only fits a 2013 model. Side by side, the pictures make the drop a lot more obvious. The drop seems to be right where it should be, leaving a little bit of gap above the tire without ‘tucking’, which is what you want out of a daily driven car on springs that you’re trying to get lower.
We recommended that Brendon opt for a set of Eibach Springs for his Focus ST, since Eibach tends to be a nice “middle of the road” comfort level, neither too harsh or too soft, a set of Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs for Focus ST were just the prescription for getting low. The Sportline springs offer a more aggressive drop than the Pro-Kit springs, so they’re not for everyone, but a set of Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs for Focus ST is a great choice for most drivers.
Here’s the side profile, which gives you a clear view of the drop.
With a lower spring, it can often be on the harsher side, but after living with them in the snow in his neck of the woods, Brendon tells us that, “I am very happy with the Eibach Sportline Springs, the ride height is just what I was looking for and the ride is great. The car feels so much better in the corners it just hugs the road with little to no body roll. Great job Eibach on your R&D you did a great job!!!!”
Thank you to Brendon for choosing ModBargains to order your Eibach Sportline Focus ST Lowering Springs and for sharing your photos.
